Etimología
Leptasthenura: Griego, leptos -delgada, fina; asthenes -debil; oura -cola.
andicola: Latín, Andium -Andes; cola -habitante.

Estado de conservación


Identificación
De color marrón grisáceo arriba, abajo marrón pálido, con rayas blancas en la espalda, el cuello, la cara y las partes inferiores. Ceja blanca. Corona negro rojiza con rayas oscuras.

- Tamaño: 17 cms.

- Peso: s/d

- Alimentación: principalmente de pequeños artrópodos, que encuentra entre las ramas y hojas de arbustos y árboles.

- Hábitat: estepas arbustivas, matorrales de altura, en valles, sierras y montañas desde los 3000 a los 4500 msnm.

- Reproducción: s/d
